Our Story

Hey! My name is Sky Zeno. I am a 24 year old graduate from New York University’s class of 2022, who has a passion for baking and entrepreneurship. This is my way of infusing the two together!

Culinary has always been apart of my life and cooking is second nature to me. My favorite thing about cooking is not cooking itself, but when someone tells me what I made was good!

I would always say that I prefer cooking over baking, but I never really knew I possessed the ability to be a skilled baker until I won Best Cupcake in my school district's Sweet Tooth Competition.

If there is one person who has inspired me to not only start my own business, but become a baker as well, it would definitely be my late grandmother, Gertrude Alice Ford Bernard.

Piles and piles of her homemade pies would cover every shelf and table in her home during the holiday season. Customers were lined up outside my grandmother's house waiting to purchase those famous Sweet Potato Pies.

Unfortunately, my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's and could no longer continue baking. This influenced me to continue her legacy and become an amazing baker just as she was.

Sophomore year of high school, I joined Culinary Arts. We were taught basic culinary skills such as, knife cuts and easy homemade recipes.

Junior year, I continued in the Culinary program and joined Practicum in Culinary Arts, an advanced program. During this time, I expanded my knowledge of Culinary, met new people who shared the same interest and goals as me, and participated in competitions. I have won 1st Place at the LeNotre Chopped Competition both in 2017 and 2018, 2nd Place at the Escoffier Mystery Basket Competition in 2017 and 3rd Place in 2018, and of course, Best Cupcake at the LCISD Sweet Tooth Competition.

I am now continuing my career in politics and advocacy.

This is only the beginning of my culinary journey and I have experienced and accomplished so much! I am excited to see where the rest of the journey takes me!
